Our Team   Mark R. McMahan, CPA, Principal Mark has been in practice for over 26 years specializing in meeting the needs of closely held businesses.  This includes a variety of consulting projects, tax planning and tax preparation for both the business entity and individuals.  Mark graduated from Central Michigan University in 1979 and worked for a regional CPA firm until 1987 when he, along with Bill Thomson, started McMahan, Thomson & Associates.  Mark is a member of the AICPA, MACPA and has volunteered in many civic, community and church activities.  You can contact Mark via e-mail at mcm@mtacpa.com.   William H. Thomson, CPA, Principal Bill is a founding principal of McMahan, Thomson & Associates, P.C.  He has 28 years experience providing tax, business consulting and audit services to our clients.  Bill graduated from Michigan State University in 1977 and worked for a regional CPA firm prior to starting McMahan, Thomson & Associates in 1987.  Bill specializes in business tax and consulting services, individual taxation and estate and trust services.  Bill is a member of the AICPA, MACPA and is past treasurer of the Midland Chamber of Commerce as well as being involved with the Chamber for many years.  You can contact Bill via e-mail at wt@mtacpa.com.   Diane C. Moomey, CPA, CVA, Manager Diane serves a variety of clients including Audit and Consulting.  Diane is a Certified Valuation Analyst and specializes in valuing business interests.  She graduated from Midland High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University with Summa Cum Laude honors.  She is a member of the AICPA, MACPA and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).  She is active in the community serving on the boards of the Affordable Housing Alliance of Midland County and Commerce Center Management Corp.  Diane is a Leadership Midland alumnus and is a member of both Zonta International and American Association of University Women.  You can contact Diane via e-mail at diane@mtacpa.com.   Angie Bober, Director of Client Service, Certified ProAdvisor - QuickBooks Angie began her career at MTA in 1995.  She supervises the client service department which includes payroll processing and reporting, and client write up.  She also provides assistance to small and medium sized businesses in preparing financial statements, preparing payroll, calculating payroll taxes and reports, CBS support and installation and other general accounting services.  She is also a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and provides installation, training and support for all versions of QuickBooks.  Angie is also a member of the American Institute of Profession Bookkeepers.  Angie received her Associates in Business from Delta College and is a Midland Native.  Contact Angie at angie@mtacpa.com   Laura Browne, QKA, Pension & Benefits Specialist, Firm Administrator Laura also joined MTA in 1995.  She holds dual positions of Pension & Benefits Specialist and Firm Administrator.  Laura received her Qualified 401(k) Administrator designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries in 2001.  In the Pension & Benefits area, Laura designs and implements plan documents, administers and serves as client consultant for 401(k) and Flexible Spending Plans.  In her Firm Administrative position, Laura supervises the firm's administrative functions and staff and network administration.  In this capacity, she works closely with all of the firm's principals, managers, and support staff to develop and maintain the efficient internal procedures that support our long tradition of superior client services.  Laura is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Midland.  She is a member of the MACPA, membership chair of the of the Michigan Chapter of the Association for Accounting Administration, Leadership Midland alumnus and the Treasurer for her local church.  Contact Laura at lbrowne@mtacpa.com
